Medical Director

VCA La Riviera Animal Medical Center is seeking an experienced Veterinarian as Medical Director to lead our progressive, 4-doctor small animal practice in Sacramento, California. This is an outstanding opportunity to continue practicing medicine while establishing the direction and medical quality of the hospital like an owner would, but without the risks of ownership. At VCA La Riviera AMC, we provide primary care, surgery, and dental services for a community of more than 500,000—all with a personal touch.  We see dogs, and cats with a variety of healthy and sick cases.  Our experienced and knowledgeable team members are fully trained on the latest veterinary medicine and procedures, ensuring that our patients receive the best veterinary care in the industry.

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL:

• Our well-appointed hospital includes 4 exam rooms, 1 treatment area, and a surgery suite.
• In-house laboratory capabilities include Chemistries, Electrolytes, u/a's, Felv/FIV, Parvo, Idexx Pancreatitis Snap tests, and cytology. We use Antech laboratories for all other diagnostics.
• We have an in house ultrasound and digital radiograph technology with a viewing station to review radiographs with owners as well as the opportunity to send out all of our digital radiographs to a Board Certified Radiologist for an expert opinion.
• Digital Dental radiographs as part of every dental procedure as well as highly skilled dental RVTs
• Surgical monitoring and support includes Cardell monitors including pulse ox and blood pressure monitoring.
• Electronic Medical Records with computers in every exam room
• A loyal clientele that care for their animals
• Complete pharmacy –large inventory of established pharmaceuticals as well as many of the latest developments
• Strong focus on client education.
