Burke Co. Animal Hospital Associate Veterinarian
We are growing, and we need you!
Are you interested in finding a position where you can practice high quality yet affordable veterinary medicine? Are you looking for a position where you can make a difference in the lives of many animals – both pets with owners and pets looking for their forever owners? Do you dream of having a job where your coworkers are also your friends and become like family? Do you want to gain more surgery experience but feel like you also need mentorship? Are you looking for more autonomy in your current position, and tired of having to answer to the corporation? If you answered yes to some or all of these questions, then Burke Co. Animal Hospital may be the place for you!
We are a privately owned small animal hospital in Waynesboro, GA, about 20 miles south of Augusta. Our hospital has 3 full time doctors, two licensed veterinary technicians, and have recently renovated the entire hospital. We have an excellent, well trained, experienced support staff that is dedicated to their jobs and to providing compassionate, quality medical and surgical care to the many animals of Burke County and to multiple surrounding counties. Of course, we have all the bells and whistles: Abaxis’ in house lab, Cuattro’s digital xray, and Companion’s class IV therapy laser. We manage most of our soft tissue and orthopedic cases in house but naturally will refer when needed. We also know how to manage our work/life balance effectively as well. We know what its like to have a young family or to have a hobby that you are passionate about (outside of the hospital!).
If you’re still reading, you’ll probably want to know the nitty gritty aspects of the job now. Our salary is extremely competitive but it is not production driven (so there isn’t that crazy competitive aspect to the job- I’ve been there, and it wasn’t fun). We offer medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, GVMA/AVMA dues, and a nice little CE package (we want you to love what you are doing and be well educated about it). Full time veterinarians work four days a week from 8-5:30 and typically one Saturday a month from 8-12. If you have further questions about the position, feel free to email me (Dr. Sarah Ford) at sadavids@vt.edu. I’d also be happy for you to speak with one of our associate veterinarians (Dr. Ericka Wade or Dr. Sarah Clark) so that they can give you their perspective on the position as well. There is more information on our website: www.burkecountyanimalhospital.com. We hope to hear from you soon!
