The Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch is a new privately owned facility built in 2018.  We have both a general Practice and an Emergency Practice under the same roof.  Our team of 45+ doctors and staff work together to provide the best customer service and medicine possible. 

Our emergency department has an opening for a full-time emergency veterinarian.  Our full-time emergency doctors are scheduled 3 shifts per week on a flexible rotating schedule.  A part-time schedule is also available. 

Surgical skills are not required.  However, applicants with solid surgical skills can receive extra compensation for those skills.  A minimum of 1 year experience in emergency medicine is required to work alone.  Mentorship is available those who are interested in entering the field of emergency medicine.  We understand scheduling and salary are an important part of accepting a position, and are happy to share this information in advance of a formal interview.  We provide 100% health coverage, a generous compensation and vacation package, CE allowance, VECCS dues paid, uniform allowance, DEA license paid for each doctor, retirement plans with 3% matching, discounted pet care and more. 

Our hospital is well equipped with the latest in diagnostics and treatments.  We have brand new equipment including full anesthesia monitors (HR, RR, CO2, O2, temp. etc), doppler, central oxygen, ICU oxygen units, Heska fluid pumps, syringe pumps, digital radiology with telemedicine, ultrasound, in house blood machines (cbc, chem, u/a, pt/ptt, iSTAT, lactate, and more), a new cardiostart defibrillator, companion animal laser machine, endoscopy, high flow oxygen, Vet Stem and more!  Our animal blood bank opened in November of 2021 and blood products are always available.  We have an 11,996 square foot expansion planned for completion in the near future with lots of new equipment and additions!
