Last year our staff of 5 exceptional Veterinarians and trained technicians helped 15,905 personal pets receive the highest level of care. Our state-of-the-art hospital equipment includes digital radiology, a full service in-house IDEXX lab, laser therapy, ultrasonography, digital dental radiology, Cubex inventory control and ongoing training for doctors and technicians.

We offer generous compensation packages along with a choice of 5- or 4-day work week, a schedule to include areas of interest, and an 8 hour day. No Saturdays.

We pride ourselves on offering a friendly, welcoming culture, and our campus consists of a public hospital, animals’ shelter with its own medical center and staff and an administration and education building.  Our organization is 44 years old and a pillar to the community. In 2021 we added FL SARC (State Animal Resource Coalition) a FEMA approved state and national rescue organization of which staff members may deploy.

Each doctor is supported by two Veterinary Nurses / Technicians.

Insurance Benefits:  You are eligible for benefits the first of the month following the date of hire. Benefits include health, dental, vision, voluntary life-, short- and long-term disability and AFLAC benefits.

• Public Service Loan Forgiveness:

           By working for SPCA Florida, you could be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness     for your Federal School Loans. You must make 120 monthly loan payments (10 years) towards the loan. These payments must be made:

• For the full amount due.
• On time, meaning within 15 days of your due date.
• On or after Oct.1, 2007.
• While you’re working full time for a qualifying employer and on a qualifying repayment plan.

Paid Time Off Policy:          

• 40 Hours can roll over for a total not to exceed 4 weeks, any given year
• 40 Hours can be paid out per year 3-5 Years 160 Hours
• 40 Hours can roll over for a total not to exceed 4 weeks, any given year
• 80 Hours can be paid out per year

Medical Director Qualifications and Experience:

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited Veterinary School in general practice
• Active, non-restricted state veterinary license
• Current DEA license or ability to obtain
• Positive leadership and mentorship
• Management experience, progressive and inspirational
• Desire to grow skills and encourage staff to reach their potential
• Mission of consistent quality care

Experience

• 6 years’ experience with canine and feline medicine
• Experience working in a multi-doctor facility
• Management/leadership/Medical Director experience a plus

Associate Veterinarian Qualifications and Experience:

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited Veterinary School in general practice
