JOB

Full-time veterinarian for mixed animal / companion animal predominant practice in beautiful, small-town, northwest GA.  If you love variety, unique local characters, and an employer who wants to help you develop your personal career interests, then consider us.  Mixed animal experience with dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and some small ruminant and swine experience is preferred, but ALL experience and interest levels considered, including small animal only.  An applicant with a special interest in herd health for everything from hobby-sized farms to large cow-calf operations would be ideal.  4 to 4.5 day/wk schedule, with every other week emergency rotation for mixed animal (farm animal only - small animal after hours are referred to e-clinic); approx 25mi service radius.  Buy-in option available for the right fit.  Good client communication skills are a must. 

SALARY / BENEFITS

Starting salary is negotiable based on experience.  Separate from salary, we include:
- dues for GVMA, AVMA, and 3rd association of choice
- license, DEA, and PLIT fees
- CE allowance
- 401(k) plan
- company truck for mixed animal veterinarian
- time off commensurate with experience (up to 4wks/yr with some rollover possible).
- moving expenses are negotiable
**Insurance allowance included within salary.  Approx $75-85k/yr starting salary, PLUS the above.

COMPANY

Established in 1978, with one current full-time and one part-time, semi-retired veterinarian.  One co-owner, retired; the other co-owner has worked at MCVS for 16 years.  Long-term veterinary assistants on-staff (7 staff total).  Plans for renovation stalled by COVID, but hopefully getting restarted. Full suite of IDEXX equipment on-site; also digital in-house and mobile x-ray; cold laser; power-float; BSE equipment; intrauma orthopedic plating system available.  We believe in treating our clients how we would like to be treated, and have worked hard to earn and keep their trust over the years. 

LOCATION

We are 20 minutes from Dalton, GA and I-75, but are also right at the Cohutta Wilderness and Fort Mountain State Park, with the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests and the Blue Ridge Mountains within half an hour drive - that's a big backyard to play in.  Enjoy a below average cost of living.  An hour and a half from Atlanta, and 45 minutes from Chattanooga, TN.

REQUIREMENTS

-GA License and Category II Accreditation

-Any level of experience and interest considered, but multi-species interest preferred

-Willingness to Learn and Teach both clients and staff

-Time with FFA kids and high school job shadows
