Seeking an Associate Veterinarian that has a passion for excellent patient care and desires to be a leader within the hospital. Each of our Veterinarians is provided opportunities to practice general medicine as well as perform surgical procedures. As leaders within the hospital, Associate Veterinarians are encouraged to research new standards of care and treatments to offer our patients, as well as help drive hospital culture.

Responsibilities Include:

• Comprehensive patient work ups
• Client communication and education
• Diagnostic procedures & surgery
• Accurate Medical Recording
• Pharmacy duties
• Promoting teamwork & staff efficiency
• Financial responsibilities
  • Correctly estimate client invoices. Clearly communicate costs to clients
  • Follow hospital guidelines for client payment and credit policies
  • Does not waste clinic resources
• Continuing Education Responsibilities
  • Regularly attend outside CE meetings to maintain necessary licenses
  • Share information gathered at CE meetings with colleagues
  • Assist in teaching at staff meetings when called upon
  • Assist with mentoring and training staff members
  • Attend at least 80% of on-site staff training and/or meetings
• Leadership
  • Meet regularly with the rest of the Leadership Team to discuss hospital operations
  • Model the hospital’s core values to the team
  • Consistently bring new business or best medicine ideas to Owner/Practice Manager for review

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. 
• Calculate figures and amounts such as drug dosing, oxygen levels, dilutions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Thoroughly write medical records and correspondence.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as laboratory reports, medical records from other doctors, hospital policy and procedure manuals.
• Speak effectively before small groups of customers or employees of the hospital.
• Graciously deal with client complaints.
• Successfully communicate with diverse personality types.
• Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must possess solution-focused problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use computer software and equipment such as completing daily records in veterinary management software, use printer and fax machine. Experience with AVImark is preferred.
