About our hospital: Bemidji Veterinary Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital, offering the best in medical and surgical care. We treat dogs, cats, exotics, and avians. Our hospital is very well-established and has been a part of the community since the 1970s. Our medical director, Dr. Andy Piller, bought BVH in 2000 and has been providing exceptional care to the pets of Beltrami Country for over 20 years. He has worked very hard to create a collaborative environment and healthy work-life balance. At BVH, every employee is valued, heard, allowed to contribute, treated fairly, and challenged!
In 2015/2016, we moved into our new state-of-the-art hospital with all the amenities. We are fully equipped with an in-house lab, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. Every exam room contains a computer and we have electronic medical records. Our surgery suite has orthopedic and soft tissue instruments and a technician to monitor and assist with surgeries. Dr. Piller performs orthopedic surgeries (TTA, lateral suture, fracture repair to name a few), so any candidate interested in expanding their surgical skills would have the opportunity to do so here. Our physical therapy/rehabilitation room has an underwater treadmill, cold laser therapy, and PEMF and PRP therapy capabilities. For those interested in reproduction and expanding this service, we currently offer surgical artificial insemination, C-sections, progesterone testing, vaginal cytology, and Brucellosis testing. We have a hood and safety equipment to properly administer chemotherapy to our patients. We also have a crematorium on site.
Most importantly, we have an amazing support staff and we utilize them to the fullest! Our technician to doctor ratio is 2-3:1, which enables our doctors to be incredibly efficient and get out of work on time!
