Copake Veterinary Hospital is offering an opportunity to join our team as a fourth veterinarian. Our community based small animal practice was established in 1947 and enjoys a loyal clientele that voted us Best Veterinary Practice of Columbia County 3 times in a row. Ours is a privately owned practice where medical decisions are made at the hospital level. This is an exciting opportunity for a new graduate or an experienced veterinarian who seeks to practice in a collegial atmosphere of shared knowledge and experience. Individual interests are encouraged and new graduates will benefit from our long history of mentorship and a support team that includes multiple licensed veterinary technicians.
Ours is a full-service small animal hospital equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound with radiologist telemedicine review, therapeutic laser, 2 dental units, full in house Idexx Laboratory integrated with Cornerstone Practice Management software, as well as, daily courier service to Idexx Reference Laboratory. We have always been open to and appreciative of veterinarian suggestions regarding new equipment and pharmaceuticals.
Copake enjoys both beautiful natural resources of the upper Hudson Valley and close proximity to cultural opportunities. Columbia County, New York is surrounded by the Catskill and Berkshire Mountains and is bordered on the west by the Hudson River. The area has long been a destination for the performing arts with the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood and off Broadway performances in the Albany area. Nearby Hudson, New York has a thriving food scene that benefits from local agriculture that supports farm to table venues, street festivals and farmers markets. In addition to the rural life style of the area, the metropolitan areas of Albany, Boston and Manhattan can be reached in 2 -3 hours by car or the Metro-North Rail to Grand Central Station.
