Who are we?

Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) is a privately owned, specialty and emergency veterinary practice located in the Capital District of upstate New York. We offer a congenial, supportive work environment with board certified specialists in Cardiology, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Physical Therapy, and Surgery. Our mission is to help our patients live longer, happier lives through expert medical care and compassionate customer service.

In 2021, we expanded our custom-built hospital, adding another 16,000 square feet to our current 24,000 square foot facility. Our ICU is supported by full-time LVTs, assistants, and client relations staff and includes diagnostic ultrasound, critical care cages, full in-house laboratory, and a blood bank to maintain our high-quality patient care. In addition, our hospital is equipped with advanced imaging modalities including 1.5T MRI, 64 slice CT scanner, and multiple ultrasound units.

Our technicians are highly trained and have access to our state-of-the-art equipment. They enjoy a compassionate, exciting, and fast-paced work environment.

• UVS offers a housing allowance benefit to both full-time and part-time employees who work consecutive shifts. A daily or monthly allowance will be offered to employees who live more than 60 miles from UVS in order to obtain temporary housing while completing their scheduled shifts. This benefit is offered as part of the employment agreement upon hire.

We have a variety of available schedules in our Emergency Service including full time, part time, and per diem positions. Our specialty positions are 4-day work week.
