Two well-respected, long-standing veterinary practices are collaborating to offer a unique position in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York at their two distinct, team-oriented organizations.
Veterinary Care of Ithaca is seeking a new associate at its small animal practice and Shelter Outreach Services, a not-for-profit organization providing High Quality High Volume Spay Neuter (HQHVSN) services, is seeking a surgeon.
The time spent at each practice will be flexible and the ideal candidate will enjoy the settings of both a well-managed, successful private practice and a highly respected community-focused surgical service — growing and thriving in both.
Shelter Outreach Services
Part time position open for a veterinarian with Shelter Outreach Services (SOS). SOS is a MASH-style High Quality High Volume Spay Neuter (HQHVSN) not-for-profit (501c3) program based in Ithaca NY. SOS partners with local and regional shelters and animal welfare organizations throughout the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier and Central NY to provide HQHVSN for shelter dogs and cats, barn cats, feral cats, dogs and cats from rescue groups and dogs and cats from families with low income. As a MASH-style program, our team travels within a one-hour radius from Ithaca to hold our HQHVSN clinics. SOS works with each shelter partner to outreach to the general public in need. SOS sterilizes 25-35 animals/clinic, we hold 42-45 clinics per month, sterilizing about 15,000 animals per year. SOS has flexible scheduling and holds HQHVSN clinics 7 days/week. Team members must work at least 1 clinic per month and can work as many clinics as they like. We have DVMs who work 1x/month, 2x/week and everything in between. We provide competitive salary, continuing education, professional liability insurance. SOS has a great team of DVMs and LVTs and has true camaraderie with our shelter partners.
SOS has spayed/neutered over 220,000 animals in the past 21 years. SOS is truly making a difference for animals in need in the Upstate NY region. The FingerLakes region of NY state is a beautiful place to live and has many outdoor recreation activities during each season of the year. Join our dedicated team!
