About Us: We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has made it their mission to ensure dogs and cats are spayed and neutered as well as placed into loving forever homes. Opening up the low-cost spay and neuter clinic has been the best way for this organization to not only give back to the rescue community, but to create a legacy - and we need your help to do this.
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed veterinarian to join our team at our newly opened, fully equipped, low-cost spay and neuter clinic. We focus exclusively on providing care to unadopted and fostered rescue dogs, ensuring they receive the medical attention they need before finding their forever homes.
Position Overview: This position offers a unique opportunity for a veterinarian seeking flexible hours and competitive pay in a high volume but low-stress environment. As the primary veterinarian on-site, you will have full control over clinic operations and the ability to shape protocols and procedures. With no client interactions, you can focus solely on providing medical care to rescue animals.
Being that this role does not require a full week schedule, we are looking for candidates who want to work with a great organization alongside their current job or simply those who want a lighter schedule (*NO WEEKENDS REQUIRED). We are considering relief vet applications as well and can discuss even further flexibility in those cases. Our supportive team and mission-driven organization make this the perfect role for anyone looking to make a difference and help to make the clinic their own.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform spay and neuter surgeries on rescue dogs and cats
Administer vaccinations and conduct routine bloodwork
Oversee and maintain best practices in surgical and post-operative care
Utilize the Navetor software system for record-keeping and workflow management
Maintain a high standard of care with the support of experienced veterinary technicians
Provide an active license for the ordering of routine medications and controlled substances on an as-needed basis
What We Offer:
A fully equipped clinic with new surgical equipment and supplies
A flexible, low-client-interaction work environment
Competitive pay
The opportunity to direct clinic operations and protocol development
The fulfillment of working exclusively with rescue animals and making a difference
Potential for loan-forgiveness as we are a qualified 501(c)3
Will cover the cost of liability insurance
Part-Time (2-3 days per week) OR per month flexibility based on relief vet schedule
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in California
Current California Driver’s License
Comfortable working independently with a small support team
