About Us
Canyon Crossroads Animal Hospital is a locally owned and completely independent practice founded in 1987. We foster the practice of medicine that is wholly focused on the human animal bond, and the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. There is never any outside influence on medical decision making. We have a strong supporting staff with a team atmosphere.
The practice is fully equipped to support excellent patient care. We utilize doppler, capnography, and everything else a Cardell can provide during anesthesia. Our technicians are very capable and allow full focus on the procedures. Digital radiographs, Digital dental, and a modern ultrasound machine (Sound Ultrasound) are all available. Idexx is utilized for laboratory needs with an excellent range of benchside laboratory testing available.
We are a busy practice with a dynamic client base that consists of local residents of the East Mountains and a sizable portion of clients commuting from Albuquerque. The cases are extremely diverse and everyday is different. Our clients trust this practice to choose necessary diagnostics and will often follow treatment plans to help their pets. The atmosphere among the veterinarians here is collegial, and we discuss more difficult cases to generate ideas together.
Our facility consists of 4 recently renovated exam rooms, a treatment area with 2 wet tables, and a surgery suite. The pharmacy is fully stocked and we’re open to formulary adjustments and additions when justified. We have entirely computerized medical records, and there are numerous workstations throughout the building with a separate desk in a doctors office.
Location
We are located in the beautiful mountain community of Tijeras, New Mexico. Tijeras is located just east of Albuquerque and offers mountain biking and hiking trails in the summer and skiing in the winter time. With Albuquerque being so close, you also have all the amenities that a city can offer!
Work Life Balance and Benefits
Full time Veterinarians have four day work weeks, two weeks of paid vacation, health insurance, 401k, paid sick leave, and parental leave. We also offer paid CE, license renewals, AVMA membership, along with VIN membership and Plumbs Pro.
